About
Floxip 500 from Abbott is a higher-strength antibiotic tablet used for many bacterial infections. The strip of 10 is meant for a planned course of treatment.
Uses
- Treats urinary tract infections
- Helps with chest and sinus infections
- Used for some skin infections
- Treats certain gut infections
How it works
The antibiotic blocks enzymes that bacteria need to copy their DNA. Without this, the bacteria cannot grow or divide, allowing the body to fight off the infection more easily.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with water at fixed times each day. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve. Avoid milk products and antacids close to the dose.

- Nausea or stomach pain
- Loose motions
- Headache or dizziness
- Skin rash
Precautions
Not suitable if you have had tendon problems with similar antibiotics. Tell your doctor about kidney issues, epilepsy and other medicines. Avoid strong sun exposure during treatment.

Store below 25 degrees C in a cool, dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
