Acnetoin Capsule 10 caps

Acnetoin Capsule from Leeford is an oral clindamycin 300 mg capsule, an antibiotic from the lincosamide family. It is a prescription medicine used for serious bacterial infections, including some skin and soft tissue infections. The 10-capsule strip is a short course pack.

• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Severe acne with infection (as advised)
• Bone and joint infections
• Certain dental and respiratory infections

Clindamycin attaches to a part of the bacteria called the 50S ribosome and stops them from making the proteins they need to multiply. With their growth checked, the body's own defences can clear up the infection.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow with a full glass of water and complete the full course even if you start feeling better.

• Nausea, vomiting or stomach pain
• Loose motions
• Metallic taste in the mouth
• Skin rash

If you get severe, watery or bloody diarrhoea during or after the course, stop the medicine and contact your doctor straight away, as clindamycin can cause a serious gut infection. Tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or bowel disease and about pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Keep the strip in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and out of reach of children.
