Advent 228.5 30 ml

Advent 228.5 is a Cipla dry syrup that combines two antibiotics, amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. It is mixed with water before use and given to children to treat bacterial infections. Clavulanic acid helps amoxycillin work even against tougher bacteria.

• Treats ear, nose and throat infections
• Chest and lung infections
• Urinary and skin infections
• Some dental infections

Amoxycillin kills bacteria by stopping them building their protective cell wall. Clavulanic acid blocks an enzyme that some bacteria use to resist amoxycillin, so the pair works against more infections.

Add the stated amount of water to make the syrup, then give the measured dose with or after food, as the doctor prescribes. Finish the full course even if the child feels better.

• Loose motions or diarrhoea
• Nausea or vomiting
• Stomach ache, and sometimes a rash; get medical help for any breathing difficulty or swelling

Available only with a valid prescription. Tell the doctor about any penicillin allergy. Use carefully in children with kidney or liver problems. Shake well before each dose.

Store the powder below 25°C. Once mixed, keep it in the fridge and use it within the days the pharmacist advises.
