About
RCinex 450 from Lupin is a fixed-dose anti-tuberculosis combination containing Rifampicin and Isoniazid, used in the treatment of TB.
Uses
- Treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis
- Treatment of extra-pulmonary tuberculosis
- Combination therapy in TB regimens
How it works
Rifampicin stops TB bacteria from making the proteins they need to grow, while Isoniazid disrupts the bacterial cell wall. Together they kill the bacteria more effectively and help prevent resistance.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually on an empty stomach with water. Complete the full course even if you feel better.
Side effects
- Orange-red colouring of urine, sweat, or tears (harmless)
- Nausea or stomach upset
- Loss of appetite
- Tingling in hands or feet
- Liver enzyme changes
Precautions
Regular liver tests may be advised. Inform your doctor of all other medicines, as rifampicin can affect many drugs. Avoid alcohol during treatment.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from light and out of children's reach.
