Product information
About
Norflox TZ RF from Cipla combines Norfloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, with Tinidazole, an antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent. It is used for mixed gut infections.
Uses
- Bacterial and protozoal diarrhoea
- Amoebic dysentery
- Mixed infections of the intestine
How it works
Norfloxacin blocks bacterial DNA-copying enzymes so bacteria cannot multiply. Tinidazole damages the DNA of anaerobic bacteria and protozoa like amoeba and giardia, clearing both kinds of bugs together.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, with water, ideally after food to reduce stomach upset. Complete the full course. Avoid alcohol during and for a few days after the course.
Side effects
- Metallic taste in mouth
- Nausea or vomiting
- Headache or dizziness
- Loose stools
Precautions
Tell your doctor about liver or kidney issues, epilepsy, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol with Tinidazole. Drink plenty of fluids during the infection.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees C in a dry, shaded place. Keep in the original strip and out of reach of children.
