Cefakind 500 from Mankind contains cefuroxime, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. The higher strength is generally used for moderate to more stubborn bacterial infections.

• Throat, sinus and ear infections
• Chest infections such as bronchitis
• Skin and urinary tract infections

Cefuroxime blocks the bacteria from making a healthy outer cell wall. Without this wall, the bacteria break apart and the infection starts to clear.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, ideally with food to improve absorption. Complete the full course even if you start to feel better.

• Rare allergic reactions

Let your doctor know about any past allergy to penicillin or any cephalosporin antibiotic, and about any kidney problems. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from children and direct sunlight.
