Tazar 4.5gm Injection 4500 mg

Tazar Injection from Lupin combines piperacillin (an extended-spectrum penicillin) with tazobactam (a beta-lactamase inhibitor). It is used in hospital settings for serious infections, including those caused by resistant bacteria. Supplied as a single vial.

• Severe chest infections, including hospital-acquired pneumonia
• Intra-abdominal and gynaecological infections
• Skin, soft tissue, and bloodstream infections

Piperacillin damages the bacterial cell wall so bacteria burst and die. Tazobactam blocks the enzymes some bacteria use to resist penicillins, letting piperacillin work against a broader range of bugs.

Given as an intravenous infusion by a trained healthcare professional, as prescribed by your doctor. Complete the full course even if you feel better.

• Pain or redness at the infusion site
• Diarrhoea, nausea, or rash
• Headache or fever
• Rare allergic or blood reactions

Tell your doctor about any penicillin or cephalosporin allergy, kidney problems, or pregnancy. Watch for signs of severe allergy or unusual bruising and report them promptly.

Store the vial below 25°C, away from light. After reconstitution, use as directed by the hospital team. Keep out of reach of children.
