Cephal caps 500

Cephal 500 from Alkem is an antibiotic capsule containing cephalexin, a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat a range of bacterial infections.

• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Throat and ear infections
• Urinary tract infections
• Bone infections caused by sensitive bacteria

Cephalexin works by stopping bacteria from building their protective cell wall. Without a strong wall, the bacteria break apart and die, which clears the infection.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with a glass of water. Complete the full course even if you feel better, to avoid the infection coming back.

• Nausea or stomach upset
• Loose stools
• Mild rash
• Rarely, allergic reactions with swelling or breathing trouble

Tell your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin or any cephalosporin, have kidney disease, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Stop the medicine and seek help if you develop rash, swelling or breathing problems.

Store below 25 degrees C in a dry place, away from heat and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
