Doxocip

Doxicip Tablet from Cipla contains Doxycycline, a broad-spectrum antibiotic of the tetracycline class. It is a prescription medicine used to treat several bacterial infections in adults and older children.

• Acne (moderate to severe inflammatory)
• Chest and lung infections
• Urinary tract infections
• Some sexually transmitted infections
• Tick-borne and other special infections
• Prevention of malaria during travel (when prescribed)

Doxycycline belongs to the tetracycline group of antibiotics. It stops bacteria from making the proteins they need to grow and multiply, so the infection is slowly cleared by the body.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with a full glass of water. Sit or stand upright for at least 30 minutes after the dose to protect the food pipe. You can take it with food if it upsets your stomach. Complete the full course.

• Nausea or vomiting
• Loose motions
• Sensitivity to sunlight
• Pain or burning behind the chest
• Vaginal or oral thrush
• Rash

Not for pregnant or breastfeeding women and not for children under 8 years, as it can affect teeth and bones. Avoid milk, antacids and iron tablets close to the dose. Use sunscreen and covering clothes outdoors as it increases sun sensitivity.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep in the original strip. Keep well out of reach of children.
