About
LQUIN from Cipla contains Levofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Doctors prescribe it for a range of bacterial infections in adults.
Uses
- Urinary tract infections

- Skin and soft-tissue infections
- Prostate infections
How it works
Levofloxacin stops two key bacterial enzymes, DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. Without them bacteria cannot copy or repair their DNA and they die off, clearing the infection.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow with plenty of water. Keep antacids, iron and calcium products at least 2 hours away from the dose. Finish the full course even if you feel better.
Side effects
- Nausea or loose motions
- Headache or dizziness
- Sleep changes
- Sensitivity to sunlight
- Tendon ache in some cases
Precautions
Share any history of tendon injury, seizures, heart rhythm trouble, diabetes or kidney disease with the doctor. Avoid strong sunlight and stop the medicine if you feel sudden tendon pain or numbness.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Keep in original strip out of reach of children.
