About

Secnil Forte from Abbott is an antimicrobial tablet that contains Secnidazole. It belongs to a class of medicines called nitroimidazoles and is used to treat certain parasitic and bacterial infections.

Uses

  • Amoebic dysentery
  • Giardiasis
  • Bacterial vaginosis
  • Trichomoniasis
  • Other anaerobic infections

How it works

Secnidazole enters the protozoa and bacteria and damages their DNA, stopping them from growing and multiplying. This clears the infection from the body.

How to take

Take as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, preferably with or just after food to reduce stomach upset. Complete the course as advised even if you feel better.

Precautions
