Niftas 50 10 tab

Niftas 50 from Intas is a lower-strength Nitrofurantoin tablet used to treat urine infections. It is often chosen for milder infections or for patients who need a gentler starting dose.

• Urinary tract infection (UTI)
• Bladder infection
• Prevention of repeated UTIs as advised

Nitrofurantoin is filtered into the urine in high amounts. There it damages the genetic material and proteins of the bacteria living in the bladder, stopping them from multiplying and helping clear the infection.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, with food or milk to lower stomach upset. Drink enough water during the course and finish all the tablets, even if symptoms ease quickly.

• Nausea
• Headache
• Loss of appetite
• Brownish urine colour (not harmful)
• Loose motions

Avoid in late pregnancy, in babies under 3 months, and in people with weak kidneys. Mention any lung, liver, or nerve disease, or G6PD deficiency. Report breathlessness, cough, tingling, or yellowing of eyes to the doctor.

Keep below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from light. Keep the strip closed and out of reach of children.
