About
Bandy from Mankind contains albendazole, an anti-worm medicine used to treat common intestinal worm infections.
Uses
- Treats roundworm, hookworm, and pinworm
- Helps with tapeworm infections
- Used for certain tissue-dwelling parasitic infections
How it works
Albendazole stops worms from taking in sugar, which they need for energy. Without that fuel, the worms weaken, lose their grip on the gut wall, and are passed out of the body in stool.
How to take
Swallow the tablet with water, usually after a meal, as prescribed by your doctor. You may need a single dose or a short course, depending on the worm type.
Side effects
- Mild stomach pain or nausea
- Headache or dizziness
- Loose motions
- Temporary rise in liver values on long courses
Precautions
Not for use in pregnancy unless advised. Tell your doctor about liver problems before starting, and ask about deworming the whole family together to prevent reinfection.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees C in a dry place, away from sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
