Orni 500 10 tab

Orni 500 from Zydus contains ornidazole, an antimicrobial used to treat infections caused by certain bacteria and parasites. It is commonly prescribed for conditions like amoebiasis, giardiasis and some types of bowel and gynaecological infections.

• Amoebic infections, including amoebic dysentery and liver abscess
• Giardiasis and other protozoal gut infections
• Certain bacterial infections of the abdomen and pelvis
• Some dental and gum infections, as advised

Ornidazole enters the bacteria and parasites and interferes with their DNA, stopping them from multiplying and eventually killing them. This helps clear the infection and ease symptoms like diarrhoea, cramps and fever.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. Tablets are usually swallowed whole with a glass of water, preferably after food to reduce stomach upset. Finish the full course even if you feel better, so the infection does not return.

• Nausea, vomiting or mild stomach upset
• Metallic taste in the mouth
• Headache or dizziness
• Tiredness or weakness
• Rarely, skin rash or numbness/tingling in hands or feet

Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, nervous system or blood disorders, are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine, as it may cause unpleasant reactions. Driving or operating machinery should be done cautiously if you feel dizzy.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep tablets in their original strip and out of reach of children.
