Ceftum 250 4 tab

Ceftum 250 from GSK is a cefuroxime axetil tablet, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a range of bacterial infections.

• Throat, ear and sinus infections
• Bronchitis and other chest infections
• Urinary tract infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections

Cefuroxime stops bacteria from building a sturdy cell wall, so the germs collapse and the infection clears. The axetil form is absorbed from the gut and converted to active cefuroxime.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food so the body absorbs more of the medicine and the stomach handles it better. Finish the full course.

• Nausea or stomach upset
• Diarrhoea
• Mild rash
• Headache

Tell your doctor about any past allergy to penicillin or cephalosporins, kidney problems or ongoing gut issues. Report severe diarrhoea straight away.

Store below 25 degrees C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight, and keep out of reach of children.
