AF Kit 1

AF Kit 1 from Systopic is a prescription combo pack designed to treat mixed infections in the genital area, where bacterial, fungal and protozoal problems can occur together. The kit usually has fluconazole, azithromycin and secnidazole tablets in one box for a short, complete course.

Fluconazole clears yeast by blocking the enzyme that builds the fungal cell wall. Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that stops bacteria from making the proteins they need to grow. Secnidazole damages the DNA of certain parasites and anaerobic bacteria. Together they cover three common causes of vaginal infection in a single course.

Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow the order and timing given on the pack and finish the full course. It is common for sexual partners to need treatment too; check with your doctor.

• Metallic taste in the mouth
• Diarrhoea
• Headache or dizziness
• Rare allergic skin reactions

Avoid alcohol during the course and for at least 24 hours after, since this combo can cause severe nausea and flushing. Tell your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart rhythm trouble. Not for use in pregnancy unless the doctor decides it is essential.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture. Keep the kit in its pack and out of reach of children.
