AF 50 4 Tab

AF 50 from Systopic is a prescription antifungal tablet containing fluconazole 50 mg. The lower strength is often used for milder fungal infections that need a slow, steady course of treatment.

• Used in some cases to prevent fungal infection in low-immunity patients

Fluconazole belongs to the triazole antifungal family. It blocks an enzyme that the fungus needs to build its protective outer wall. Without this wall, the fungal cells weaken and die, which clears the infection.

Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow with a glass of water, with or without food. Complete the full course even if you feel better, since stopping early may bring the infection back.

• Rare changes in liver function with long use

Tell your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart rhythm problems. Avoid alcohol while on the medicine. Pregnant women should use it only if clearly needed and after a doctor's advice. Report any yellowing of eyes, dark urine or unusual tiredness.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture. Keep the strip in its pack and out of reach of children.
