Meromac Injection from Macleods contains Meropenem, a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the carbapenem family. It is used in hospitals to treat serious bacterial infections.

Meropenem belongs to the carbapenem class of beta-lactam antibiotics. It works by interfering with the bacterial cell wall, causing the bacteria to break down and die.

This injection is given by a doctor or nurse in a clinical setting as prescribed by your doctor. It is not self-administered.

• Pain or redness at the injection site
• Nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea
• Headache or rash in some patients

Tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to penicillin or other antibiotics, or if you have kidney problems or a history of seizures.

Store the vial in a cool, dry place protected from light. Once reconstituted, use immediately as advised by your healthcare provider.
