About
Ring Guard from Reckitt is a well-known anti-fungal cream in India for ringworm and other skin fungal infections. It combines Miconazole, an anti-fungal, with Neomycin, an antibiotic that helps with any added bacterial infection on broken skin.
Uses
- Ringworm (dermatophyte infection)
- Itching between toes (athlete's foot)
- Jock itch in the groin area
- Mixed fungal and bacterial skin infections
How it works
Miconazole damages the cell wall of fungus so it cannot survive on the skin. Neomycin acts on common bacteria that often invade scratched or broken skin around the infected patch.
How to take
Wash and dry the affected area. Apply a thin layer on the patch and a little around it, usually twice a day or as directed. Wash hands after each use. Keep using for the full duration the doctor or pack suggests, even after the itching settles.
Side effects
- Mild burning at the spot
- Redness or irritation
- Dryness or peeling
- Itching just after applying
Precautions
For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth and private parts. Do not use on deep wounds or burns. If the rash spreads or does not improve in 2 weeks, see a doctor.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Keep the cap closed and out of reach of children.
