Taxim Injection from Alkem contains cefotaxime sodium, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used in hospital settings to treat serious bacterial infections. This is the adult 1 gm vial.

• Severe chest, urinary, or skin infections
• Bone and joint infections
• Meningitis and bloodstream infections

Cefotaxime damages the bacterial cell wall, causing the bacteria to burst and die. It works against a wide range of gram-negative and many gram-positive organisms.

Given as an injection by a trained healthcare professional, as prescribed by your doctor. Complete the full course even if you start to feel better.

• Pain or redness at the injection site
• Nausea, diarrhoea, or rash
• Rare allergic reactions
• Changes in blood counts with long use

Tell your doctor about any penicillin or cephalosporin allergy, kidney problems, or pregnancy. Seek urgent help if you notice breathlessness, hives, or facial swelling.

Store the vial below 25°C, away from light. After reconstitution, use as advised by the hospital team. Keep out of reach of children.
