About
Montaz 500 Injection from Aristo Pharmaceuticals combines Ceftriaxone 500 mg with Tazobactam 62.5 mg. Ceftriaxone is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic and Tazobactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that helps protect it from resistant bacteria.
Uses
- Chest and lung infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Intra-abdominal infections
- Septicaemia
How it works
Ceftriaxone damages the bacterial cell wall. Tazobactam blocks the enzymes that resistant bacteria use to break down the antibiotic, so together they tackle a wider range of germs.
How to take
This is a hospital or clinic injection given as prescribed by your doctor by a trained nurse, usually into a vein or muscle.
Side effects
- Pain at the injection site
- Loose motions
- Nausea
- Rash
- Changes in liver and blood tests
Precautions
Mention any past allergy to penicillin or cephalosporins. Tell your doctor about liver, kidney, or gallbladder problems. Discuss use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Storage
Keep below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of children's reach.
