Product information
About
Montaz Injection from Aristo Pharmaceuticals combines Ceftriaxone 1000 mg with Tazobactam 125 mg. Ceftriaxone is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic and Tazobactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that helps it work against resistant bacteria.
Uses
- Severe chest and lung infections
- Complicated urinary tract infections
- Intra-abdominal infections
- Skin, bone, and joint infections
- Septicaemia
How it works
Ceftriaxone damages the protective wall of bacteria. Tazobactam blocks the bacterial enzymes that would otherwise inactivate the antibiotic, so the combination tackles a wider range of germs including some resistant ones.
How to take
This is a hospital or clinic injection given as prescribed by your doctor by a trained nurse, usually into a vein.
Side effects
- Pain at the injection site
- Loose motions
- Nausea
- Rash
- Mild changes in liver and blood tests
Precautions
Mention any past allergy to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics. Tell your doctor about liver, kidney, or gallbladder problems. Discuss safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Storage
Keep below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of children's reach.
