Metronidazole targets the low-oxygen bacteria often found in deep or chronic wounds, while povidone-iodine is a broad antiseptic that kills a wide variety of germs on contact. The combination helps the wound stay clean while it heals.

Clean and dry the area, then apply a thin layer as prescribed by your doctor. Cover with a dressing only if advised. Wash hands before and after.

Avoid contact with eyes and mouth. Not for large open wounds without medical advice. Tell your doctor if you have thyroid issues, are pregnant, or breastfeeding.
