Zovirax Syrup 100 ml

Zovirax Syrup is a GSK liquid preparation of aciclovir, an antiviral medicine that targets herpes-family viruses. The syrup form makes it easier for children and people who cannot swallow tablets.

• Cold sores and genital herpes infections

Inside infected cells aciclovir is switched on by a viral enzyme and then blocks the virus's copying machinery, so new viral particles cannot be built. Healthy cells are largely spared because the activation step needs the virus to be present.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, using the measuring spoon or cup provided. Drink plenty of water through the course to protect the kidneys, and finish the full duration even if you feel better.

Tell your doctor about kidney problems, pregnancy, or breastfeeding before starting. Treatment works best when started early in the infection, ideally within the first day of symptoms.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius, away from direct sunlight. Discard any leftover syrup after the period stated on the label once opened.
