About

Sporidex Paediatric Drops from Sun Pharma contain Cephalexin, a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. The concentrated drops make it easier to dose infants and very young children for common bacterial infections.

Uses

  • Ear infections in infants
  • Throat and tonsil infections
  • Skin and soft-tissue infections
  • Urinary tract infections

How it works

Cephalexin breaks the cell wall that holds bacteria together. Without that protective wall, the bug ruptures and dies, clearing the infection.

How to take

Give as prescribed by your doctor using the dropper supplied. Shake well before every dose. Complete the full course exactly as advised.

  • Loose stools
  • Mild stomach upset
  • Rash (stop and inform doctor)
  • Diaper-area yeast infection

Precautions

Tell your doctor about any allergy to penicillin or cephalosporins, kidney problems or persistent diarrhoea. Use a clean dropper. Once reconstituted, use within 7 days.

Storage

Store reconstituted drops in the refrigerator (2-8°C). Discard any unused liquid after 7 days.
