Gudcef DS 4.5 g/10 ml Drop

Gudcef DS Drops from Mankind is a paediatric oral antibiotic preparation containing Cefpodoxime. The drop form makes it convenient for infants and very young children who cannot swallow tablets or syrup.

Cefpodoxime is a third-generation cephalosporin that stops bacteria from building a strong cell wall. Without this wall, the bacteria die and the infection clears. The drop form gives a precise small dose suited to a baby's body weight.

Give as prescribed by your doctor. Shake the bottle well before each dose, use the dropper that comes with the pack, and ideally give after a feed to reduce stomach upset. Complete the full course.

• Loose motions or diarrhoea
• Vomiting or fussiness
• Mild rash
• Nappy-area thrush

Tell the doctor about any allergy to penicillin or cephalosporins, jaundice, kidney problems or long-standing diarrhoea. Do not mix the drops into a full bottle of milk. Report severe diarrhoea or rash promptly.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Once reconstituted, follow the time mentioned on the pack, keep the cap tightly closed, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
