About
Ceff 125 mg Dry Syrup from Lupin is a child-friendly liquid form of cefalexin, a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. The pharmacist mixes it with water before use.
Uses
- Throat and ear infections in children
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Some chest infections
How it works
Cefalexin stops bacteria from building the cell wall they need to survive. Without it the germs collapse and the infection clears.
How to take
Shake the bottle well. Give as prescribed by your doctor using the measuring cup or spoon provided. Complete the full course even if the child seems better.
Side effects
- Loose stools or diarrhoea
- Nausea or stomach upset
- Mild rash
- Diaper rash in babies
Precautions
Tell the doctor about any past allergy to penicillin or cephalosporins, and about kidney issues. Watch for severe rash or ongoing diarrhoea.
Storage
Before mixing, store below 25 degrees C in a dry place. After mixing, refrigerate and use within the period the pharmacist advises, usually 7 to 14 days.
