About

Combutal 800 from Lupin contains ethambutol, an antibiotic used as part of combination treatment for tuberculosis. It is taken alongside other anti-TB medicines to prevent resistance.

Uses

How it works

Ethambutol stops Mycobacterium tuberculosis from building its cell wall by blocking an enzyme called arabinosyl transferase, slowing bacterial growth so the body can clear the infection.

How to take

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually as a single daily dose. Swallow whole with water and complete the full course even if you feel better.

Precautions
