About
Gudcef CV 200 from Mankind is a combination antibiotic tablet containing Cefpodoxime and Clavulanic Acid. It is used for bacterial infections that may be resistant to plain Cefpodoxime.
Uses
- Resistant throat and ear infections
- Sinus and chest infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Skin and soft-tissue infections
- Other infections as advised
How it works
Cefpodoxime is a third-generation cephalosporin that damages the bacterial cell wall, killing the bacteria. Clavulanic acid blocks the bacterial enzyme called beta-lactamase that normally breaks down such antibiotics. This combination keeps Cefpodoxime effective even against tougher, enzyme-producing bacteria.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset. Complete the full course even if symptoms settle early.
Side effects
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea or vomiting
- Stomach pain
- Mild rash or itching
Precautions
Inform your doctor of any allergy to penicillin or cephalosporins, kidney problems, or chronic stomach disease. Avoid self-medication and do not share the strip with someone else. Report severe diarrhoea or skin rash immediately.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep the strip in the original pack and out of reach of children.
