Terbifon 250

Terbifon 250 from Knoll contains Terbinafine, an allylamine antifungal taken by mouth. It is used for fungal infections of the skin and nails that need more than a topical cream.

• Stubborn ringworm of the skin
• Fungal nail infections (onychomycosis)
• Severe athlete's foot or jock itch
• Scalp ringworm (tinea capitis)

Terbinafine blocks squalene epoxidase, an enzyme fungi rely on to build their cell membranes. Without working membranes, the fungal cells die, helping the body clear the infection from skin and nails.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food. Swallow with water at the same time each day. Complete the full course, even if the infection looks better, especially for nail infections which need several weeks.

• Stomach upset or loss of appetite
• Headache
• Skin rash
• Change in taste sensation
• Rare liver enzyme changes

Share any history of liver disease, kidney problems, lupus or psoriasis. Your doctor may check liver function before and during treatment. Tell your doctor about all other medicines. Discuss pregnancy or breastfeeding.
