About
Combutol 200 from Lupin contains ethambutol at a low strength, often used for paediatric tuberculosis or for fine-tuning adult doses. It is given with other anti-TB medicines.

How it works
Ethambutol prevents Mycobacterium from building its outer wall by blocking arabinosyl transferase, stopping the bacteria from multiplying so the body and partner antibiotics can finish them off.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor at the same time each day. Swallow whole with water and never alter the dose on your own.
Side effects
- Vision changes including blurred sight
- Difficulty seeing red and green colours
- Stomach upset
- Headache
Precautions
Report any change in vision promptly. Tell your doctor about kidney problems or eye conditions, and ensure children using this have regular check-ups.
