Rcin 300

Rcin from Lupin contains Rifampicin, a rifamycin antibiotic that forms a backbone of tuberculosis treatment. It is used as part of multi-drug regimens for TB and selected other infections.

• Helps prevent spread of meningococcal infection in close contacts

Rifampicin blocks a bacterial enzyme needed to make RNA, so the bacteria can no longer multiply, allowing the body's defences to clear them.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. Usually swallowed whole with water on an empty stomach, at least an hour before food.

• Orange-red colour in urine, sweat, and tears (harmless)
• Nausea or stomach upset
• Skin rash or itching
• Changes in liver function tests

Share a full list of your medicines with your doctor, as Rifampicin can weaken many others including hormonal contraceptives and certain HIV drugs. Tell your doctor about any liver issues and avoid alcohol during treatment.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place away from sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
