About
Rcinex EZ from Lupin is a four-drug fixed-dose anti-tuberculosis combination containing Rifampicin, Isoniazid, Ethambutol, and Pyrazinamide. It is typically used during the intensive phase of TB treatment.
Uses
- Treats active tuberculosis in the intensive phase
- Combines four anti-TB medicines in one tablet
- Helps reduce the chance of drug resistance
How it works
Each ingredient attacks TB bacteria in a different way: Rifampicin and Isoniazid disrupt key bacterial processes, Pyrazinamide works on bacteria hiding inside cells, and Ethambutol stops cell-wall building, so the infection is hit on multiple fronts.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor. Usually swallowed whole with water on an empty stomach, at least an hour before food.
Side effects
- Orange-red colour in urine and body fluids (harmless)
- Joint pain or raised uric acid
- Numbness or tingling in hands and feet
- Vision changes
- Nausea, vomiting, or liver function changes
Precautions
Report any yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine, joint swelling, or vision changes to your doctor without delay. Tell your doctor about liver or kidney problems, gout, diabetes, alcohol use, and all other medicines you take.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place away from sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
