Myconex 800

Myconex 800 from Cadila is a fixed-dose tablet combining isoniazid and ethambutol, two first-line anti-tuberculosis medicines. It is used as part of the long-term TB treatment regimen.

• Continuation phase therapy of pulmonary and other forms of TB
• Part of multi-drug TB treatment plans
• Preventive therapy in selected cases as advised

Isoniazid stops TB bacteria from building their cell wall, while ethambutol blocks a different step in the same wall-building process. Together they kill or arrest TB bacteria and reduce the chance of resistance.

Swallow whole as prescribed by your doctor, usually on an empty stomach for best absorption. Do not skip or stop doses without medical advice.

• Nausea, tingling in hands or feet, mild liver upset
• Changes in vision or colour perception need urgent review

Regular eye and liver checks may be needed. Avoid alcohol, and tell your doctor about any vision change, jaundice or unusual tiredness.

Store below 25 degC in a cool, dry place, away from light and out of children's reach.
