PANSPED IV Inj

Pansped IV from Torrent is the injectable form of pantoprazole 40 mg, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It is used in hospitals and clinics to switch off stomach acid quickly when tablets are not suitable — for example in serious ulcer disease or before certain procedures.

• Used to treat acid reflux (GERD) and peptic ulcers
• Used in Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (excess acid production)
• Used to prevent stress ulcers in seriously ill patients
• Used when a patient cannot take pantoprazole by mouth

Pantoprazole blocks the acid pumps in the stomach lining — the final step of acid production — so acid levels fall and the stomach lining gets a chance to heal.

This injection is given into a vein by a doctor or nurse in a healthcare setting. It is never self-administered.

• Pain or swelling at the injection site
• Headache or dizziness
• Nausea, gas or loose stools

Tell the doctor about liver disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Long-term PPI use can increase the risk of bone fractures and lower magnesium and vitamin B12 levels, so extended therapy needs monitoring. Avoid alcohol. Available only with a valid prescription.
