About

Pan 40 is a pantoprazole tablet from Alkem used to settle acid-related stomach trouble. It is a proton pump inhibitor that gives lasting relief from acidity and heartburn.

Uses

  • Acid reflux (GERD)
  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

How it works

Pantoprazole blocks the tiny acid pumps in the stomach lining, lowering the amount of acid made. With less acid, the stomach and food pipe get time to heal.

How to take

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually before a meal in the morning. Swallow whole with water, do not crush or chew. Try to take it at the same time each day.

Side effects

  • Headache or dizziness
  • Diarrhoea or constipation
  • Stomach pain or nausea
  • Gas or bloating

Precautions

Tell your doctor about liver problems, low magnesium or bone issues. Long-term use needs a doctor's review. Avoid stopping suddenly without advice.
