Acotinol 100

Acotinol 100 from Knoll contains Acotiamide 100 mg, a prescription medicine used to ease the discomfort of functional dyspepsia. If you often feel full after just a few bites, bloated, or have a burning ache in the upper tummy without any clear cause, your doctor may suggest this tablet.

Acotiamide gently boosts the action of a natural chemical called acetylcholine in the stomach. This helps the stomach muscles contract better, so food empties more smoothly into the intestine and you feel less heavy after eating.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. It is usually taken before meals with a glass of water. Do not skip or double up doses on your own.

• Loose motions or mild diarrhoea
• Constipation in some people
• Nausea or headache
• Skin rash (rare, tell your doctor)

Let your doctor know if you have liver problems, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take medicines for heart rhythm. Avoid alcohol while on this medicine as it can worsen tummy symptoms. Not recommended for children unless advised.
