Ocupol DX Eye Ointment 5 gm

Ocupol DX Eye Ointment from Centaur Pharmaceuticals combines two antibiotics (Chloramphenicol and Polymyxin B) with the steroid Dexamethasone. It is prescribed for eye infections that come with redness and swelling.

• Bacterial eye infection with swelling
• Conjunctivitis with inflammation
• Eyelid margin infection (blepharitis)
• Eye irritation after minor surgery

Chloramphenicol and Polymyxin B kill a wide range of harmful bacteria in the eye. Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid that calms redness, itching and swelling so the eye feels comfortable while healing.

Use as prescribed by your doctor. Wash hands, pull down the lower lid and apply a small ribbon of ointment inside. Blink gently; vision may blur briefly. Often used at bedtime.

• Mild stinging or burning
• Temporary blurred vision
• Eye irritation or itching
• Raised eye pressure with long use

Not for viral or fungal eye infections. Do not use longer than the doctor advises as steroid use can raise eye pressure. Avoid touching the tube tip to the eye. Remove contact lenses before use.

Store below 25°C, away from heat and sunlight. Discard 4 weeks after first opening. Keep out of reach of children.
