Product information
About
Altrosun Eye Drops contain atropine sulphate with chlorbutol preservative. Atropine widens the pupil and relaxes the eye muscles used for focusing.
Uses
- Pupil dilation for eye examinations
- Treatment of certain inflammations like uveitis
- Cycloplegic refraction in children
- Amblyopia (lazy eye) management
How it works
Atropine blocks muscarinic receptors in the eye, relaxing the iris and ciliary muscles. This widens the pupil and temporarily prevents focusing.
How to take
Use as prescribed by your doctor. Tilt the head back, pull down the lower lid and place the drop, then close the eye gently for a minute.
Side effects
- Blurred vision
- Light sensitivity
- Stinging on application
- Dry mouth
Precautions
Do not drive until vision settles. Avoid in narrow-angle glaucoma. Tell your doctor about heart conditions or if the eye drops are for a young child.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius. Keep tightly closed and discard within four weeks of opening.
