Rifagut from Sun Pharma contains Rifaximin, a non-absorbed antibiotic that works mainly inside the gut. It is widely prescribed in India for bacterial diarrhoea and IBS-related symptoms.

• Bacterial diarrhoea, including traveller's type
• IBS with diarrhoea
• Small intestine bacterial overgrowth
• Helping prevent repeat episodes of hepatic encephalopathy

Rifaximin blocks a bacterial enzyme called RNA polymerase, which the bacteria need to grow. Because the tablet is barely absorbed, the action stays concentrated inside the intestine and reduces the bacterial load there.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow with water, with or without food. Try not to skip doses and finish the full course even if you feel better.

Inform the doctor about liver disease, ongoing pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Stop the medicine and seek help if severe diarrhoea, fever, or rash appears.
