About
Cresar CT 40 Tablet from Cipla combines Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), with Chlorthalidone, a thiazide-like water tablet. The two together give stronger and longer-lasting blood pressure control.
Uses
- High blood pressure not controlled by one medicine
- Long-term blood pressure management
- Heart and kidney protection in selected adults
How it works
Telmisartan blocks the chemical that tightens blood vessels, helping them stay relaxed. Chlorthalidone helps the kidneys flush out extra salt and water, lowering the volume of blood. Together they bring down blood pressure smoothly.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, once daily at the same time, with or without food. Swallow with water. Take in the morning to avoid waking up at night to pass urine.
Side effects
- Dizziness, especially when standing up
- Frequent urination
- Muscle cramps
- Tiredness
- Mild stomach upset
Precautions
Avoid in pregnancy. Tell the doctor about kidney or liver disease, gout, diabetes, dehydration or use of other water tablets. Have blood pressure, kidney and electrolyte tests done as advised.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from sunlight. Keep in the original strip until use. Keep out of reach of children.
