About
Telvilite 40 CH from Leeford is a combination BP tablet with Telmisartan, an angiotensin-receptor blocker, and Chlorthalidone, a long-acting thiazide-like diuretic. It is prescribed when one medicine is not enough to keep blood pressure in range.
Uses
- High blood pressure not controlled by single therapy

How it works
Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II so the blood vessels stay relaxed. Chlorthalidone helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water, reducing blood volume. Together they lower BP through two different actions.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with water in the morning so the diuretic effect does not disturb night sleep. Drink enough fluids during the day.
Side effects
- Increased urination early on
- Dizziness on standing
- Tiredness
- Muscle cramps
- Drop in potassium or sodium on tests
Precautions
Not recommended in pregnancy. Tell the doctor about kidney or liver disease, gout, diabetes or low electrolytes. Periodic blood tests are advised.
