Product information
About
Telma CT from Glenmark combines Telmisartan, an angiotensin receptor blocker, with Chlorthalidone, a long-acting thiazide-like diuretic. The pair is used when one drug is not enough to control blood pressure.
Uses
- Moderate to severe high blood pressure
- Hypertension with mild fluid retention
- Lowering long-term risk of stroke and heart attack
- Maintenance therapy when single-drug control falls short
How it works
Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II at vessel receptors so the vessels stay relaxed. Chlorthalidone helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water, reducing blood volume. Together they keep pressure lower around the clock.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor with water, preferably in the morning so the diuretic effect does not disturb sleep.
Side effects
- Increased urination, especially at first
- Dizziness or light-headedness
- Muscle cramps
- Dry mouth or thirst
Precautions
Avoid in pregnancy. Tell your doctor about kidney disease, gout, diabetes, or low potassium. Drink enough water and have salts checked when advised.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from light. Keep in the strip and out of reach of children.
