Aldactone 100 15 tab

Aldactone 100 from RPG contains Spironolactone 100 mg, a potassium-sparing diuretic (water tablet) that also blocks the aldosterone hormone. It removes extra fluid without losing too much potassium.

• High blood pressure (often add-on)
• Heart failure with fluid retention
• Liver cirrhosis with ascites
• Hormonal acne and PCOS in women (off-label, doctor's call)

Spironolactone blocks aldosterone in the kidneys. The kidneys then release extra sodium and water but hold back potassium. This lowers blood pressure and reduces swelling.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, with or after food, preferably in the morning so night-time bathroom trips are fewer.

• Increased urination
• Breast tenderness, irregular periods
• Dizziness, tiredness
• Higher potassium levels (needs blood tests)
• Nausea

Avoid potassium-rich diet (banana, coconut water in large amounts) and potassium supplements unless advised. Tell your doctor about kidney problems, pregnancy or other BP medicines like ACE inhibitors. Periodic blood tests are important.

Store below 25°C, in a dry place away from sunlight and children.
