About
Rifagut 400 from Sun Pharma is a higher-strength Rifaximin tablet. It is a gut-specific antibiotic prescribed for diarrhoea, IBS-D and certain liver-related conditions.
Uses
- Traveller's diarrhoea
- IBS with diarrhoea
- Bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine
- Prevention of repeat hepatic encephalopathy episodes
How it works
Rifaximin attaches to a bacterial enzyme called RNA polymerase and stops bacteria from multiplying inside the gut. As very little reaches the bloodstream, side effects in the rest of the body usually stay limited.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow with water, with or without food. Stick to the same timings each day and finish the full course.

Precautions
