Welbihist 40 from Leeford contains Bilastine, a second-generation antihistamine. It is prescribed to control allergy symptoms in adults without causing much drowsiness.

• Hives (urticaria) and itchy rash
• Year-round and seasonal allergy

Bilastine blocks the H1 histamine receptors in the body. Histamine is the chemical released during an allergic reaction that causes itching, sneezing, and rash. By blocking it, the medicine reduces these symptoms.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water on an empty stomach, usually one hour before or two hours after food or fruit juice. Try to take it at the same time each day.

• Stomach discomfort

Avoid taking with grapefruit juice or other fruit juices, as these reduce its action. Use with care if you have kidney problems or heart-rhythm issues. Tell the doctor about all other medicines you are taking. Not for use in pregnancy and breastfeeding unless the doctor advises.

Store below 25°C, away from sunlight and moisture. Keep in the original strip and out of reach of children.
