About
Alaspan Syrup is a paediatric-friendly liquid form of Loratadine (5 mg per 5 ml). It eases allergy symptoms in children who cannot swallow tablets and works without causing heavy drowsiness.
Uses
- Allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny nose) in children
- Itchy, watery eyes from allergies
- Skin rash and hives
How it works
Loratadine blocks the H1 histamine receptor — the switch that triggers itching, sneezing and tears when allergens hit. By keeping the switch off, the child feels much more comfortable.
How to take
Give as prescribed by your doctor based on the child's age and weight. Shake the bottle well, measure with the cap or a marked spoon, and give with or without food.

- Mild headache
- Dry mouth
- Tiredness in a few children
- Stomach discomfort (uncommon)
Precautions
Inform the doctor if the child has liver or kidney issues. Do not give other cold/allergy syrups along with it without checking, since many already contain antihistamines.
Storage
Store below 25°C, tightly capped, away from sunlight. Use within the period mentioned on the label after opening.
