Product information
About
Alerid from Cipla contains Cetirizine 10 mg, a second-generation antihistamine widely used in India for everyday allergy relief. It calms allergy symptoms without causing as much sleepiness as older tablets.
Uses
- Sneezing, runny or itchy nose
- Watery, itchy eyes
- Hives, skin itching
- Hay fever
How it works
Cetirizine blocks the H1 histamine receptor — the trigger your body uses to set off itching, sneezing and watery eyes when it meets an allergen. Block the trigger, and symptoms quietly settle.
How to take
Adults and children above 12 usually take one tablet at night with water. For other ages or special situations (pregnancy, kidney/liver issues), follow your doctor's advice.
Side effects
- Mild drowsiness
- Dry mouth
- Headache
- Tiredness
- Stomach upset (uncommon)
Precautions
Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you. Skip alcohol while on it. Tell your doctor about kidney or liver problems. Do not give to small children without medical advice.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from sunlight and children.
