Chlorocol Eye Oint 3 gm

Chlorocol Eye Ointment from Jawa contains chloramphenicol, a broad-spectrum antibiotic for use in the eye. It is prescribed for bacterial infections of the eye and is often used at bedtime for longer-lasting cover.

Chloramphenicol blocks the bacteria's ability to make essential proteins, so they cannot grow and multiply. The ointment base also keeps the medicine on the eye surface for longer.

Use as prescribed by your doctor. Wash hands first, pull down the lower lid and apply a small ribbon of ointment inside without touching the tip to the eye. Vision may be blurred for a short while afterwards.

• Mild eye irritation

Do not share the tube. Avoid contact lenses during treatment. Tell your doctor about any allergies, especially to chloramphenicol.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius, with the cap tightly closed. Discard one month after first opening.
