About
Betnesol N Eye/Ear Drop from GSK pairs betamethasone, a corticosteroid, with neomycin, an antibiotic, for inflamed and infected eye or ear conditions.
Uses
- Bacterial eye infections with inflammation
- Ear infections in the outer ear canal
- Allergic eye inflammation with risk of infection
- Post-operative eye care when advised
How it works
Betamethasone calms swelling, redness and itching, while neomycin acts against many bacteria that infect the eye or ear, treating two issues together.
How to take
Instil the drops into the affected eye or ear as prescribed by your doctor. Wash hands before and after, and avoid touching the dropper to the skin.
Side effects
- Mild stinging or burning
- Temporary blurred vision after eye use
- Local irritation
- Risk of new infection with long use
Precautions
Do not use in viral or fungal eye infections, or if the eardrum is perforated, unless advised. Avoid prolonged use. Tell your doctor about glaucoma or recent eye surgery.
